What a flight and hotel package means

It means your flights and your accommodation are quoted together, and sometimes transfers as well. You get one quote, one point of contact and a single set of dates, instead of piecing the trip together yourself.

When it can make sense

• you want one quote and one person to speak to
• you are not sure which airport, dates or hotel are best, and want help choosing
• you want transfers arranged with your flights and hotel
• you are travelling as a family or a group and want everything lined up

When booking separately may be better

• you want a specific airline, flight time or loyalty programme
• you want to choose your hotel from a long list, or stay somewhere that is not part of a package
• you need maximum flexibility on dates or on changing parts of the trip
• the flights and the hotel are cheaper booked separately for your dates

What to compare

• the total price per person, and what it covers
• baggage allowances, which can differ by fare
• flight times and airports, including how early you leave and how late you return
• whether transfers are included, and how long they take
• the meal plan at the hotel, such as room only, bed and breakfast, half board or all-inclusive
• the change and cancellation terms for the whole booking

Ask how your booking is protected

Before you pay for any holiday, ask what protection applies to your booking and what is covered if something goes wrong, such as a supplier failing or a flight being cancelled. Get the answer in writing, and keep it with your booking confirmation.

3. We send you a quote showing the total price, what it covers, the baggage allowance, whether transfers are included and the change and cancellation terms.
4. We can also quote the flights and the hotel separately, so you can compare.
5. You decide whether to go ahead, and ask us any questions before you do.
